Cisco at IBC2024
I can’t tell you how excited I am about this week’s annual International Broadcasters Convention in Amsterdam. This event is at the center of connectivity, connection and innovation and our team at Cisco is thrilled to be part of an amazing Media, Sports and Live Event community.
Our leadership in this community continues to grow as we innovate across our portfolio to transform the way broadcasters, content providers, venues, sports teams and leagues are harnessing the power of AI, IP and other emerging technologies, taking audience experiences to the next level.
This year, I’m thrilled to share a few cool announcements and innovations.
Enabling Dynamic IP Production
The broadcast industry’s evolution to IP requires sustainable technology to provide great multicast visibility and flexibility to allow integration of multiple multicasts and/or unicast, on-premises and cloud domains. Visitors to the Cisco booth can expect to see our flagship solution, Cisco IP Fabric for Media (IPFM), on display at the ‘Cloud Native Media Production Anywhere’ demo to show how we are enabling these transitions to IP aligned with SMPTE 2110. IP Fabric for Media continues to enable sustainable broadcast transition from SDI to SMPTE ST 2110 with Cisco’s Nexus Dashboard as a single point of management for IP based media fabrics, providing in depth monitoring and viability. IP Fabric for Media was the selected solution by NBC Sports for its production of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris. Additionally, we are thrilled to announce our very own Chris Lapp was honored by the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers for the Citation for Outstanding Service to the Media Industry.
Showcase in Motion
During the week of IBC, Cisco booth presence will be located in Hall 3, #C37. Additionally, Cisco will show up in countless ecosystem partner booths leveraging our networking, security, collaboration and hybrid-cloud solutions. We also are hosting the “Harnessing Gen AI in Media” Session on Sunday, September 15th at 12:45PM at the IBC Innovation Stage, Hall 3 featuring our very own Swetha Velamuri! Also on Sunday, Cisco and its partners were named as a IBC2024 Innovation Awards Finalist for its live sport and sustainable production awards, taking place in the Auditorium Complex at the RAI at 18:00 CET.
As you make your way across the show floor at the RAI Center during IBC be sure to check out the Cisco Booth, C37 in Hall 3, and see for yourself how Cisco and our impressive ecosystem of partners are forging a path of innovative new experiences for the media, sports and entertainment industry.
